FAQ

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program that improves all aspects of fitness through constantly varied functional movement done at high intensity.  CrossFit combines body weight exercises, weight lifting, and cardiovascular conditioning for a challenging, fun, and effective fitness program.   Equally important, CrossFit is a community of people who work together to achieve their fitness goals.  Intensity and community are what make CrossFit effective.

Is CrossFit for me?
Yes!  Anyone can do CrossFit.   We coach athletes from 18 years old to 60+, all at different fitness levels.

What benefits can I expect from CrossFit?
Quite simply, you will get in the best shape of your life.

How much does it cost?
Nothing!  All Raptor CrossFit classes are free.  Our equipment is provided by 633 FSS and our staff are volunteers.

Is CrossFit dangerous?
Absolutely not.  CrossFit is safer than many common fitness activities such as basketball, distance running, tennis, and even dance lessons.

Is CrossFit hard?
Or more precisely, intense.  There are no shortcuts to achieve your fitness goals.  The formula is simple - work really hard.  Although CrossFit is intense, it is that intensity that will get you fit, and get you there more effectively than any other program.

What is Fitness anyway?
This is a foundational video by the founder of CrossFit, Coach Greg Glassman.  He gave this version to the warriors of STRATCOM back in 2014.  A bit long, but a great explanation behind the theory of CrossFit.  You can read his original article here.
